Northwoods Bay Resort on Pakwash Lake is beautifully scenic, abundant in wildlife and is located in the middle of the finest fishing and hunting area in northwest Ontario.

FISHING AND HUNTING

FISHING: Pakwash Lake is well known for its fishing. The lake has abundant Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Perch and Whitefish. The nearby drive-to lakes have Lake Trout and Musky, or we can arrange a daily fly-in trip with one of the local charter services. We'll do our best to assist you in finding the best "hot spots" during your stay.

HUNTING: We have excellent moose, bear and small game hunting in season. Please contact us for availability.

Natural Beauty

Don't forget your camera! you'll have the chance to see moose, bear, wolves, fox, lynx, deer, otter, marten, eagles and many others right here from our camp. The lake is beautifully scenic with connecting river systems, creeks and waterfalls. Breathtaking sunsets are readily available.

ACCOMMODATIONS & LODGING

Our cabins are either log or frames, comfortably furnished and can accommodate from 2 to 12 people. they are modern, with hot and cold running water. All cabins have showers (except for the two person cabins, for which centrally located showers are nearby.) All are fully equipped for light housekeeping. Each cabin is complete with propane ranges with ovens, heaters and electric refrigerators. Each cabin has it's own charcoal grill (charcoal not supplied). All utensils, pots, pans and bedding is supplied. (Guests must provide their own bath linens)

CAMPING

We have an 18-unit campground with level sites, shaded areas and complete hookups with electricity, water and sewer available. 30amp service is available at all the full service campsites and at other selected water/electric sites. Bathrooms and shower facilities for the campground are centrally located.

FACILITIES

THE CAMP STORE stocks groceries, ice, and lake maps, motor gas and oil, licenses, minnows, bait and tackle.

WRAPPING AND FREEZER services are included. We have ample space in our large walk-in freezer. Filleting service is available and we can teach you how to get rid of the nasty "Y" bones from the Northerns.

BOATS: Large, safe 16 ft. aluminum boats and dependable new or near new 20 H.P. Yamaha motors for your use, if needed.

DOCKS: There are sheltered docks with one located near your cabin or campsite.

DIVERSIONS

A PLAYGROUND area with swings and slides, a sandbox, horseshoes, volleyball and badminton.

A RECREATION ROOM is available for your use which has a pool table, board games, cards, television with VCR and tape selection, etc.

OUR SANDY BEACH is the perfect spot to enjoy a fresh-caught shore lunch with your friends and family. Lunch kits are also available.

WE'RE EASY TO GET TO

• Cross the Canadian border to Fort Frances, Ontario. Take Hwy. 11 east to the junction of Hwy. 502. Travel north on Hwy. 502 to Dryden.
• Connect with TRANS-CANADA Hwy. 17 west to Vermilion Bay. Take Hwy. 105 north approximately 80 miles (20 miles north of Ear Falls) to Snake Falls Road.
• Turn west on Snake Falls Road and follow signs to Northwoods Bay Resort.
• Red Lake Airport has facilities for private planes or daily commercial flights from Winnepeg or Toronto.

We're located between the towns of Red Lake and Ear Falls, which offer a variety of restaurant dining, souvenir shopping, tours of a near-by gold mine, museums, golf, tennis and other facilities.

If hunting is what calls you north, we have excellent moose, bear and small game hunting in season.

If you are coming to fish, Pakwash Lake, along with its connecting lakes, is the ideal place for catching "The Big One".
